Happy Chinese New Year!
For this year’s Chinese new year’s celebration we got prepared again! Kids created their Chinese calendars and zodiac, figuring out who is which sign; we wrote our names in gold paint in Chinese characters; we decorated the center; we did a lot of art using gold and red colours; we read books; explained the tradition; made paper dragons; learnt a Chinese song and dance. Christmas is upon us and Discovery doesn’t stay far behind! Children made gifts for their parents – holiday wreaths. We went and collected tree branches and twigs ourselves, as well as all other materials: weeping willow, holly tree, evergreen pine cones. Kids have also been getting ready for Santa – we have been practicing Christmas songs to sing for our Christmas party. We all decorated a Christmas tree as well. Field trip to Vancouver International Airport
On one November day we went for a road trip to YVR.
